Commanders,
I would like to introduce to you our Kentucky District Historian, Darryl Colson. He will be reaching out to each of you for any historical information you can provide on the Kentucky Royal Rangers’ past. Things like past District Commanders / Directors / Staff members, locations of the past Pow Wows in Kentucky, the past FCF events, Pow Wow patches, and FCF patches, and the numbers that attended those events. Most important is the stories you can convey about the living and those that have gone on to heaven. He would like to keep the memories alive and documented for future Kentucky Royal Rangers to read and hear.
Here is a story I remember very well when I was going through a Leadership Training camp. Some of you may remember it also. His name was Donnie Ray Clark, and he oversaw providing food for the different patrols that were in training. You would have to get your food rations from Donnie in the evening. There was a catch, you would have to sing for your super and if he didn’t like the song you would have to sing again. That was fun since I couldn’t carry a tune. Always smiling and cutting up. He passed away in March of 2007 but to this day I still remember him. Donnie (Wrestling Bear) was a past FCF president in Kentucky.
This is the kind of information that Darryl Colson needs to keep the history of Kentucky Royal Rangers alive for this generation and future generations. Everyone’s stories and information are important so please share with Darryl. You can contact him via his email below.
